Federal Compliance & Security Frameworks

FedRAMP Moderate

Atlassian Government Cloud is a separate cloud environment designed for U.S. government agencies and eligible government partners. It currently has FedRAMP Moderate authorization and supports Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. Commercial Atlassian Cloud environments should not be represented as FedRAMP Moderate compliant.

IL2, IL4 & IL5

Impact Levels define security requirements for handling different categories of government information. Atlassian Government Cloud currently provides a FedRAMP Moderate environment, while Atlassian identifies FedRAMP High and Impact Level 5 (IL5) as future compliance targets. Therefore, IL5 should not be presented as a current authorization for Atlassian Government Cloud. Organizations with IL2, IL4, or IL5 requirements should evaluate the applicable Atlassian deployment option and current authorization status for their workload.

CJIS

Organizations handling Criminal Justice Information (CJI) should evaluate Atlassian solutions against their specific CJIS security and contractual requirements. CJIS compliance depends on the applicable environment, configuration, controls, and organizational responsibilities. Empyra can help organizations assess their Atlassian deployment and security requirements as part of their implementation planning.

CMMC

Organizations subject to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) should evaluate the Atlassian environment, configuration, integrations, and organizational controls against the requirements applicable to their CMMC scope.
