Rovo is powered by Atlassian's Teamwork Graph, which connects all your organizational knowledge into a unified context. Both Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo are now included at no additional upfront cost with Cloud Premium and Enterprise subscriptions. 

As of April 9, 2025, Rovo is included at no additional upfront cost for organizations with active Atlassian Cloud Premium or Enterprise subscriptions for Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, or Teamwork Collection. Standard plan customers are receiving access on a rolling basis through 2025. Rovo Dev is separately priced at $20 per developer per month (Standard tier, 2,000 credits/month).

Yes, with the right configuration. Rovo and Atlassian Intelligence respect your existing Atlassian permission model: users can only surface content they already have access to. Atlassian Cloud holds SOC 2 Type II certification and ISO/IEC 27001 accreditation. Atlassian Guard provides security monitoring, anomaly detection, and policy enforcement. Data residency options let you pin your data to specific AWS regions (US, EU/Germany, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland).

BYOK encryption is available through an Early Access Program for Enterprise customers. Rovo's Memory includes PII masking. Empyra configures all of these controls as part of every AI implementation.

Rovo and the full Atlassian Intelligence feature set are Cloud-only. If you are on Data Center, you have access to some foundational AI features but not the full Rovo platform. The path to Rovo is Cloud migration. Atlassian provides Rovo Data Center Connectors that allow Data Center instances to connect to Rovo Search, enabling hybrid organizations to begin accessing Rovo benefits while completing their cloud migration.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) encryption means you manage your own encryption keys rather than relying on Atlassian's managed key infrastructure.
